Kawaki tells Code that if the person who wants to meet him is also against Naruto, he won't show them any mercy either, and blasts him point blank. Shikamaru goes to check on Naruto, still in disbelief and denial of what happened, and stresses that the battle still isn't over. He goes on the offensive and pressures Code. Kawaki mocks Code, pointing out that killing Boruto should make it clear the lengths he'll go through to protect Naruto. Kawaki stops him by shrinking his Claw Marks so Code can't use them. Kawaki is indifferent, so Code releases Shikamaru and tries to escape. Code threatens to kill Shikamaru if Kawaki approaches. Ada warns him against considering sacrificing Kawaki in Boruto's place for the God Tree. Code is surprised by Boruto's death at Kawaki's hand, and the return of his Kāma. Naruto thinks back to Boruto's life as he tries to wake him up in vain. Sumire shares her suspicion that Ada is somehow responsible for the change, pointing out that the two of them were likewise not affected, and surmising a shinjutsu was likely involved, a drastic measure to save Kawaki. Sasuke is concerned by Sarada's disposition. Sarada is confused, but Sumire assures her they are both fine.

Team 10 ambushes Boruto, admonishing him for killing Naruto. Sumire contacts her, and asks if she's of sound mind. She is shocked when Sasuke comments on the situation with Boruto and Kawaki, his perception altered as everyone else's. Sasuke finds Sarada, asking her if she's ok, noting Mitsuki's absence. Daemon arrives, asking if he did something with his sister, annoying him.
Kawaki is glad that now no one will interfere with him killing Boruto, planning to keep Naruto and Hinata sealed until he has killed Boruto and Code. Sarada is stunned by the news, and Mitsuki goes searching for Boruto. Sumire suspects the flash of light has something to do with it. Sarada tries to convince Mitsuki not to go after Boruto. Shikamaru relays the information to the search party. At Kawaki's behest as he grab her by her collar, Ada lies to Shikamaru that Boruto killed Naruto.
